420 Clinic, the first marijuana clinic in Calgary, is about to celebrate its first anniversary in just a few days. In an interview with the media, the company, through its spokesperson Thomas Wells, took the opportunity to talk about the clinic’s products and services and what the future holds.

“As we approach our first year anniversary, all we can say is we’re thankful for the support we have received,” Wells says. “We understand and are aware of the need for medical marijuana services in Calgary, and that’s the reason we opened up shop, so to speak.”

The anecdotal evidence for the medical benefits of marijuana is voluminous, but now the same thing can be said for the scientific and medical data in support of it. In countries around the world, medical marijuana is being accepted in the mainstream. However, before 420 Clinic, there were no marijuana clinics in Calgary, but the company took a major decision to open one.

“There’s no questioning the usefulness of medical marijuana, so we had no second thoughts about opening one here in Calgary,” Wells continues. “With our team of professional experts and health specialists, our patients are assured of receiving the best health care products possible.”

420 Clinic is aware that some people are apprehensive about using marijuana as a form of medical treatment. However, Wells assures everyone the 420 Clinic service is legal and conforms to Canadian laws and regulations.

“420 Clinic is legal and fully licensed, and we are dedicated to running in accordance with all the country’s regulations, federal, municipal and provincial laws. Our clinic only works with licensed producers, and all our practices are in line with the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations.”

Wells also took time out to address the other concerns of people, including the safety of the procedures. One of the reasons why some are apprehensive is the fear their body may not be strong enough to handle the medication. However, Wells says this is not going to be a problem because each prospective patient undergoes a screening to determine their eligibility.

“The patient’s physician, or one of our own, will perform a full diagnosis prior to doing anything,” Wells says. “We also have a detailed list of the illnesses that medical marijuana can treat, so there is no reason for patients to worry. As long as they follow the product directions, there should not be any problems.”

The use of marijuana as medical treatment continues to gain wide acceptance, and at the commencement of their first anniversary, 420 Clinic plans to offer more. “We are here to provide the best marijuana dispensary products possible, and we are confident of making this happen.”
