Parker Waichman LLP, a national law firm that has spent many years fighting to ensure that the heroes and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks are never forgotten comments on a recent settlement involving 78 cleanup workers who alleged having suffered respiratory and gastrointestinal illnesses due to their time working near the World Trade Center site following the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks. The case is In Re: World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation, MC-100/101/102, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Case No. 21-mc-00102).
The workers are part of a group of 1,000 individuals pursuing claims in Manhattan federal court over alleged injuries associated with the cleanup efforts of more than 100 privately owned buildings located in lower Manhattan, and involve allegations of asthma, breathing difficulties and excessive coughing, and dizziness and fatigue, according to a Reuters report dated March 19, 2015.
“Parker Waichman has been fighting for the rights of 9/11 heroes and survivors since the beginning. This settlement highlights how crucial benefits are to those many individuals who sacrificed physical health and well-being during a time of national crisis,” said Matthew J. McCauley, Senior Litigation Counsel at Parker Waichman.http://www.yourlawyer.com/topics/overview/zadroga-act-wtc-world-trade-center-claims-lawyer-attorney-lawsuit

In addition to the ongoing litigation, Parker Waichman was also deeply involved in the efforts to pass the Zadroga Act, and, now, to extend the Act.
