Centura Tile is now offering the DITRA-HEAT-TB floor warming system from Schluter, providing a faster, more efficient and user-friendly way to heat up cold tiles.

As part of its role as a distributor of Schluter-brand interior design features, Centura is proud to offer the new DITRA-HEAT-TB electrical floor warming system. This is a new and improved DITRA-HEAT system with integrated thermal break.
“The thermal break is the biggest advance that sets DITRA-HEAT apart from other systems,” explains Ross Keltie, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Centura Tile. “The break channels heat directly up into the tile rather than allowing it to collect within the subfloor like in other warming systems. The result is that tiled floors installed over a concrete substrate (which normally results in cold tiles) warm up approximately 70% faster.”
Heated flooring options are popular in basements or in cold environments, however, the time they take to work, as well as worries about energy efficiency, have kept the technology from being used more widely than it could be. Since the thermal breaks speed up heating time and reduce wasted energy, it is hoped that the DITRA-HEAT flooring line can help correct this trend.
“There is a lot of interest in making the technology more accessible to a wider audience,” notes Keltie. “That’s why DITRA-HEAT has, for instance, a thinner assembly and all-in-one system so installation can be faster and simpler.”
The Ditra Heat line also includes the same properties as the original, award-winning DITRA-HEAT flooring, such as uncoupling, waterproofing, vapour management, and load support. DITRA-HEAT-TB is available in 5/16″ (8mm) thickness and can currently be obtained in roll form from Centura Tile. DITRA-HEAT-TB will be available in sheet form on April 18, 2016.
