Xarelto Lawsuit Filings Continue To Increase In Number, Surpassing 3,400 Within Only Five Years

March 24, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on continually increasing Xarelto lawsuit filings which have now surpassed 3,400 in number since 2011, when the blood thinner was released to market. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the anticoagulant at that time, but this approval has since become a controversial topic, as investigations are currently taking place surrounding the drug’s clinical trials and a potentially defective medical device.

Xarelto was incredibly popular when it came onto the market as a new-generation blood thinner which could provide users with more freedoms than traditional blood thinners had in the past. The anticoagulant drug had been FDA approved to treat patients recovering from hip or knee replacement surgeries as well as those suffering from deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and atrial fibrillation condition.

The complaints filed against Xarelto manufacturers Bayer and Janssen were consolidated to form two large litigation groups. In Eastern Louisiana, the U.S. JPML transferred all federally-filed Xarelto cases from across the United States to form MDL No. 2592. These cases are being overseen by the Honorable Judge Eldon Fallon, and currently number over 2,800. In addition to these complaints, however, a group of more than 600 Xarelto lawsuits has also been formed into a mass tort program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by the Court of Common Pleas.

Xarelto has also received two “black box” warnings from the FDA since the agency awarded the drug its 2011 approval. These black box warnings are the most strict warnings any product is able to receive before being completely pulled from the market.

As the many plaintiffs involved in Xarelto lawsuits await trial, Attorney Joseph Osborne is hoping to assist those who took the drug and also suffered from adverse events that they attribute to it. These individuals should be given the important opportunity to fully investigate their legal rights in the matter, and could be entitled to substantial compensation. In order to assist those looking to pursue justice, Attorney Osborne is offering free legal consultations for affected parties at this time.
