First Aid Shoppe Introduces Insect Repellent That Is Safe For Clothing And Gear
April 20, 2016 – – First Aid Shoppe has introduced a personal insect repellent designed specifically for clothes and gear, made by Ben’s, and it will be available along with the other products in their Ben’s line of insect repellents. Ben’s Clothing and Gear contains 0.5% Permethrin to kill biting insects on contact, and is made for clothing and gear to provide an extra level of protection against mosquitoes, ticks, biting flies and other insects. First Aid Shoppe is a supplier of first aid and survival gear and kits to professionals and the general public, and they have recently begun offering the Ben’s line of personal insect repellents.
“The permethrin formula is a powerful repellent,” says COO of First Aid Shoppe, Anna Loehwing. “And this application is designed specifically for fabric, clothing and gear.”
The specialized formula bonds to the fibers in fabric for protection that lasts up to two weeks. Each bottle contains enough repellent to treat two complete outfits or one set of gear. It is unscented, and designed to be applied once for protection that lasts. The formula is a complete insect repellent in itself, and can be used in conjunction with other repellents that are applied directly by the user to themselves.
“This is a convenient solution to bug control,” says Ms. Loehwing. “When we go out, especially further into the wild, we need to put on bug spray or something to keep away the pest. Now, with this, you can pre-treat your clothes and gear, and just by wearing them you’ll be taking a huge step toward keeping the bugs at bay.”
The Ben’s Clothing & Gear Insect Repellent is part of the Ben’s line of personal insect repellents and is available through First Aid Shoppe.
