First Aid Shoppe Announces The Barrier Shield For Their Mini CPR Mask Is Now Semi-Transparent

April 25, 2016 – – Today Anna Loehwing, COO of First Aid Shoppe, providers of professional grade first aid and survival gear to professionals and the general public, reported that their Mini CPR Keychain Mask features a semi-transparent breathing shield which allows the rescue breather to monitor the color and response of the victim while performing CPR. The shield has printed instruction on the outward facing side, and a full-function one-way valve in the center of the shield to control the flow of rescue breathing.

“We’ve made it as easy as possible to have one of these handy and use it,” says Ms. Loehwing. “When a CPR emergency strikes you simply pull out the mask and fold it out. Instructions are on the outward facing side so there are no mistakes, which can be important in the chaos of a life-threatening situation. Once the mask is applied the one-way valve controls breathing, and the semi-transparent shield allows you to monitor what’s going on with the victim.”

The shield on the CPR Mask covers the mouth and nose of the victim, creating a barrier against bacteria and infection. The one-way valve controls the flow of air, allowing the rescue breather to administer CPR breathing while preventing backflow from the victim, reducing or eliminating contact with body fluids and ejecta.

“Though the mask is small when folded up into its pouch, it becomes a full-function CPR mask once it’s folded out,” says Ms. Loehwing, “with full protection for the rescue breather and the victim.”

The Mini CPR Keychain Mask stows in a small, nylon pouch with an attached key ring. It is approximately the size of a standard key fob, and designed to fit on a key ring for ease and persistence of availability.
