Tick Repellent Spray, The Tick Mix, Announces Official Launch

The all natural spray repels ticks with a proprietary blend of oils

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 26, 2016 / Wendy Clubb is proud to announce her all natural tick spray, The Tick Mix. The Tick Mix uses a proprietary blend of all natural oils to repel ticks without harsh chemicals or filmy residue. It repels ticks by covering a scent they are normally highly attracted to, with one that they find repulsive.

Clubb began experimenting with different blends of natural products after consecutive outings in her native Quebec, Canada. Learning that ticks carry Lyme disease (originally named that after its discovery in the town of “Lyme,” Connecticut), the appearance of a tick on a child’s scalp in 2014 motivated her to create a simple solution. Shortly thereafter, Clubb created her company “Rogue Remedies,” which specializes in creating sustainable, toxin-free products.

“I have experimented with many mixes on ticks generously donated by the veterinarian and I have found there is not much a tick does not like (I have seen a tick cuddle up to a raw piece of garlic),” says Clubb. “The key is Rose Geranium oil, and how it is mixed. If it is mixed with too many other scents – it does not put the tick off.”

Ticks search for hosts by sitting on the tips of plants and “questing” with their front legs to detect smell, temperature change, and movement. When a host brushes against the plant, the tick jumps on and quickly buries into their skin. There, they insert an anticoagulant (blood clotting inhibitor) where they can feed on the blood of the host. Removing ticks is a difficult and painful process, and Lyme disease is an often misdiagnosed ailment characterized by fatigue, fever, and a “bulls-eye” pattern rash.

In order to offset some of the financial strain incurred by Clubb during the development of The Tick Spray, she has taken her creation to Indiegogo where she’s seeking the help of backers. Meeting her goal will not only allow her to get The Tick Mix onto more shelves, but it will also spearhead other products such as a bed bug spray, an anti-itch cream, a lice repellent for children, and even a flea powder for pets.
