TheAtlantic.com Suggest That Plastics Should Be Kept Out Of The Microwave

May 17, 2016 – – Microwave Plates with Lids

TheAtlantic.com is a popular website that produces stories on business, science, politics and technology. Recently the website highlighted that it is probably not best to use plastics in the microwave. Monikas Marketplace stated that users can utilize their microwave plates instead to heat up food in the microwave.

According to TheAtlantic.com, the easier thing to do is microwave leftovers in the plastic container they were left in. Other foods such burritos are sometimes heated up in the plastic wrapper they are stored in. This leaves persons likely to be exposed to phthalates which according to the National Institutes of Health, has human health effects that are “not yet fully known” but they are thought to be endocrine disruptors.

TheAtlantic.com stressed that as endocrine disruptors, phthalates “could interfere with the body’s glands, metabolism, reproduction, and other functions of the endocrine system. Exposure to some phthalates has also been linked to preterm birth and neurobehavioral problems in infants exposed in the womb.” Studies have also linked some kinds of phthalates to higher blood pressure and increased insulin resistance.

“We saw the report from TheAtlantic.com and are wary of the potential dangers of using plastic in the microwave such as the exposure to phthalates. We recommend using our microwave plates with lids as they are tested to be microwave safe. Additionally unlike standard microwave covers these are Bisphenol-A Free, giving added protection against harmful chemicals,” stated a representative from Monikas Marketplace.

The representative would further state, “our microwave plates with lids have a divided plate with two sections for convenient separation of food and a vented microwave splatter cover. This reduces the mess associated with heating up food in the microwave.”

The Microwave Plates with Lids are easy to use and the food can be brought straight from the fridge to the microwave without using a separate container. The product is sold exclusively on the Amazon platform for online shoppers for an affordable price below $10.
