Oregon Hot Tub, a 6-store hot tub, swim spa and sauna dealer in Portland, Beaverton, Bend, Wilsonville Oregon and Vancouver, Washington, shares “Three Best Ways to Keep Families Physically and Mentally Fit.”

Sue Rogers, CEO of Oregon Hot Tub said, “May is Family Wellness Month, a great program designed to help parents and other family members get and stay healthy.  Getting healthy is smart and a good step toward a healthier, longer life, but getting the whole family fit, both physically and mentally, is an even greater accomplishment.” Here are the three ways to keep families physically and mentally fit.

1. Play Brain Games Together – Instead of accepting that all family members will go their own way at the end of the day, increase family wellness by incorporating family game night at least once a week. Play games that encourage mental activity. There are many types of family oriented games that “fit the bill”, but two of the more fun and challenging that have been around for decades include Monopoly and Scrabble.

2. Make Sure Everyone Gets Enough Sleep – Enforce good sleep habits and set reasonable demands on family members based on ages.  According to the Mayo Clinic, children 2 to 3 years of age still need a lot of sleep. They suggest that age group sleep at least 11 – 12 hours a night and also get a 1 – 2-hour nap. 3 to 5 year olds should get at least 10 hours, children 6 to 13 should be getting 9 to 11 hours and 14 to 17 year olds need at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Adults should also maintain proper sleep schedules and times. Even adults need at least 7 hours of sleep to maintain proper health.

3. Plan Time Every Day to De-Stress – Modern life may be less physical than it was in the past, but it is often more stressful.  Cutting down on stress whenever possible is a good idea, but it is even more important to develop ways to beat stress and relax so the body can recover.

Soaking in an Astoria hot tub is a fun way to relax at the end of the day, but most people have to pay expensive membership fees, travel across town and create even more stress dealing with parking and crowds just to enjoy the relaxation a hot tub provides. Installing a hot tub at home is a terrific way to side-step all of that stress and get the all the advantages of a hot tub right at home for the whole family.

To show people the benefits of soaking in a portable spa at home, Oregon Hot Tub will be providing free hot tub and swim spa test soaks in all their modern showrooms for the entire month.  They do recommend however that people wanting to schedule their free 30-minute wet test call ahead of time to reserve their spot.
