German Man Loses Teeth In E-Cigarette Explosion As U.S. E-Cig Lawsuit Filings Mount

May 30, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on an e-cigarette explosion involving a German man who went to use his device when it exploded in his face, causing serious injury. In an article by The Daily Mail, a 20-year-old man suffered injuries to his face and mouth when he went to inhale his e-cigarette and the battery exploded. The explosion occurred at a vape shop as he was purchasing new parts for the device, the article said.

The incident bears similarity to one in the U.S. that occurred in New York in which a 14-year-old boy had been testing an e-cigarette at a mall kiosk when the device exploded. The blast left the boy with severe facial injuries in addition to blinding him in one eye. The boy is being represented by attorney Marc Freund with Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman.

Freund said in an interview with Pix11 the teen, ” . . . was being marketed at the entrance of the Kings Plaza Mall.” “A mall that caters to children, and they’re marketing these products, causing all these injuries.”

According to FEMA, most e-cigarette explosions occur while the devices are plugged in to be charged. However, a handful of instances reported in the U.S. have occurred while the devices were in use. When the e-cigarettes explode, they can often cause fires or serious injuries to those in the immediate area.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman are currently looking to assist those who have been affected by explosive e-cigarettes. Attorneys such as Marc Freund are working to ensure that those individuals who have been injured by the devices are able to explore their legal rights fully. Certain individuals may be entitled to financial compensation. Attorney Freund is currently offering free consultations to anyone who has been injured by the devices.
