Atlanta Woman Victim Of Alleged E-Cigarette Explosion Prompting Potential E-Cig Lawsuit
June 03, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com details a recent development concerning a local Atlanta woman who nearly lost her home following her e-cigarette allegedly exploding causing fire damage to her home. WSBTV.com reports on the events leading up to the incident, which includes the local woman using her computer to charge her e-cigarette, which in turn led to the device exploding and launching flames 4 feet across her living room.
Following the explosion, the victim claimed “It was like kaboom! And I see this flame shooting across my living room.” The woman went on to explain that had she not been home, her dogs and cats most likely would have perished and her home potentially could have been engulfed in flames. Other details from the release include a statement made by an e-cigarette trade association that estimates that over 3.5 million devices are currently in use.
Sadly, this is not the first circumstance where an e-cigarette has exploded. In a separate case, a Brooklyn teen was rendered blind in his left eye and sustained severe burns on his hands following an alleged e-cigarette explosion in his hands while he inspected the device. Following the alleged explosion in Brooklyn, the victim has decided to pursue legal action and has hired attorney Marc Freund to represent him.
Freund echoed his support for victims of e-cigarette explosions through his statement that, “It is unforgivable that these electronic cigarettes, which are marketed as a safe replacement for smoking, actually present immediate dangers.”
Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman is interested in providing his legal services to any victim of these devastating explosions. He is currently offering free legal consultations in an attempt to offer each individual affected by e-cigarette explosions the opportunity to pursue their legal rights. Freund notes that some individuals could be entitled to financial compensation.
