E-Cig Explosions Occur Causing Damage And Potential E-Cigarette Lawsuit Filings

June 06, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on two e-cigarette explosion stories and their effects. Arizona News Station ABC 15 reported on two stories where e-cigarette explosions, from seemingly small devices, had such significant effects. In one case, a man’s young daughter had to experience answering the phone to hear him screaming that he was on fire as he drove in his car. His e-cigarette had exploded, he reported, in his pocket as he drove along, and the flames started spreading down his leg.

He tried to put out the fire with his hand, only to receive extensive hand burns in addition to leg burns, and he was sent to the hospital for treatment. His wife is attempting to extract some good out of the situation and the resulting publicity, noting that they have many friends who also use e-cigarettes who should be aware of the emerging risks which are being identified. She spoke to the TV news station which covered her husband’s experience with the e-cigarette explosion. With their help, she addressed the public about the trauma that she and her husband, as well as their daughter, experienced because of the electronic cigarette, and the risks that others may face as well.

In a case of extensive property damage which was reported by ABC15.com, Phoenix Fire Department officials stated that an e-cigarette cartridge overheated during charging, and exploded. It was the source of flames which ultimately, according to fire department estimates, caused over $100,000 in damage to a woman’s home. The fire department is reaching out to publicize the increase in fires from electronic cigarettes that they have observed, and to ensure that users understand the dangers that may be present when using e-cigarettes.
