E-Cigarette Explosion Afflicts Plymouth Man With 3rd-Degree Burns, Sparks Potential E-Cig Explosion Lawsuit

June 20, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Marc Freund commented on a recent development in Massachusetts that left a man in a local hospital for burn treatment, following an alleged e-cigarette explosion. Freund wishes the man a speedy recovery and hopes that he seeks legal justice for the damages he sustained in the accident. Freund notes that the number of e-cigarette incidents has grown at an alarming rate and that manufacturers and retailers really need to properly warn potential customers.

As indicated in a local report from Plymouth.WickedLocal.com, in Manomet, Massachusetts on May 24th a local man sustained 3rd-degree burns to his hands and fingers following an apparent explosion in the man’s home. A local-area Fire Chief indicated that the man was quickly transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment. Further details remain unavailable, but the injuries sustained by the local man are fairly common for victims of e-cigarette explosions.

Typical injuries that e-cigarette explosion victims sustain are burns, cuts, lacerations, and in extreme cases temporary blindness, severed limbs, and or need for immediate surgery. A recent report from TheProductLawyers.com has given the public access to a detailed timeline of e-cigarette explosions that have occurred since 2009.

The timeline emphasizes that there have been 199 reported e-cigarette explosions since 2009, with the most recent explosion occurring on June 11th. There were 9 e-cigarette explosions in May of 2016, and there have been 77 such explosions in 2016 already. This statistic is quite alarming considering that the total number of explosions in 2015, and 2014 were 47, and 38, and 2016’s total of 77 has already nearly surpassed the total of the two previous years combined.
