UK Family Fortunate To Be Alive After E-Cigarette Explosion Fire, Potential E-Cig Explosion Lawsuit To Follow

June 21, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Marc Freund commented on the recent events in the United Kingdom where a local family luckily escaped their burning home after an e-cigarette explosion set the house ablaze on May 16th. Freund applauds first responders for rescuing the family and putting out the extensive house fire. He notes that had the local teen not woken up, this could have been a major tragedy.

As reported by The Daily Star, local firefighters claimed that the 15-year-old victim was lucky to be alive, after the e-cigarette triggered fire gutted the boys room and severely damaged the entire top floor of the Manchester home. The local fire department took 3 hours to put out the fire and is extremely relieved that nobody was injured. Authorities along with the victim’s father suggested that e-cig users charge their devices during the daytime so that in the event of a similar incident they are able to quickly react and put out the fire.

A detailed timeline of e-cigarette explosions from TheProductLawyers.com indicates there have been 199 reported e-cigarette explosions since 2009. The report indicates over 80 percent of reported e-cig explosions have occurred since 2014, with 77 already taking place in 2016. There have been 51 explosions in the United Kingdom since 2009, 38 of which occurred in England. As e-cigarettes gain more popularity the number of e-cigarette-related explosions have increased as well.
