Ohming Technology (www.Ohming.com), a company that is making it more convenient to charge multiple devices simultaneously, is weighing in on Bank of America using smartphone swipes for payments.

Bank of America is hoping to capitalize on the usage of smartphones by introducing cardless technology to 5,000 ATMs by the end of this year. Customers will be allowed to withdraw and transfer funds through a digital wallet downloaded on the smartphone. “Smartphones aren’t going away anytime soon,” says Paul Romanenko, owner and CEO of Ohming Technology. “In fact, they are becoming more and more part of our everyday lives. And not just for entertainment purposes, but to accomplish practical activities as well. Bank of America recognizes this reality and is doing what they can to provide better services for its customers.”

The Bank of America is the first U.S. bank to offer this technology. It has already tested cardless banking in New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Charlotte, with Los Angeles as its next target. Customers only need to hold their device over the ATM and follow the regular prompts to complete the withdrawal or transfer.

“It’s a smart thing to do,” Romanenko continues. “Hardly anyone leaves home without their cell phones so putting it to use makes logical sense. I’m sure many banks will follow suit soon enough and cardless banking will become something fairly common across the country.”

Wells Fargo says it will introduce a similar technology for its customers this summer. Experts say that cardless banking has decreased banking time from 40 seconds down to 10 seconds for the same activity.

“The use of smartphones will only continue to proliferate,” Romanenko concludes. “And that’s where Ohming Technology comes in. We make it easier to keep one’s smartphone charged, so as someone’s running around all day using all these new smartphone services, they don’t have to worry about their phone battery giving out.”

Ohming Technology does its job with the Charge M.E., a portable mobile device charger that helps keep smartphones charged while customers are away from home.
