Construction Accident Lawyer Notes Need For Change After Death Of Oregon Man
July 04, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman recently offered his sincerest regret in finding out about the death of a Michigan man who was killed while doing construction work. Moverman noted that these incidents are far from uncommon and that safety revisions must be made in order to protect workers.
The worker became trapped under a pipe along Starr Avenue and S. Lallendorf Road. A resident in the area said he ran out of his house when he heard a scream. When he came outside he saw a construction worker running to the aid of another worker who was on the ground, according to NBC 24. Police later confirmed that one worker had died.
More than 20 percent of all work-related fatalities in 2013 were employed in the construction industry along with one in five of the 4,821 reported fatalities in 2014, the OSHA reports. Some of the most common construction accidents involve slips, trips and falls, scaffolding accidents, and ladder falls. Injuries resulting from these accidents typically include lacerations, bruising, broken or fractured bones, and sometimes spinal or brain injuries.
Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman strongly believes in fighting for the compensation victims need and deserve. They have been representing victims of construction accidents for years and in one case, Attorney Thomas Moverman even won a victim $2.6 million for a worker who injured his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding.
“Most of these actions help to make our environment and the workplace safer so that others will not have to endure these painful losses,” said Moverman of the firm’s work.
The firm has successfully obtained millions in settlements for those victims and Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident. Certain individuals may be entitled to financial compensation.
