Personal Injury Lawyer Encourages Safety Measures Following Accident That Injured Worker

July 15, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman stated recently that injuries to workers such as the one that occurred in New York should prompt officials to identify work hazards and seek solutions. Moverman wished the worker a successful and speedy recovery.

Tribeca Trib Online reported last month that a construction worker at Tribeca’s Citigroup tower, 388 Greenwich Street, was injured after a material box slid off a forklift and hit his leg. The man was evaluated by on-site medics and his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

Not all workers who are victims of construction accidents are lucky enough to escape with non-life threatening injuries. Some of the most common construction accidents involve slips, trips and falls, scaffolding accidents, and ladder falls. Injuries resulting from these accidents typically include lacerations, bruising, broken or fractured bones, and sometimes spinal or brain injuries. More than 20 percent of all work-related fatalities in 2013 were employed in the construction industry along with one in five of the 4,821 reported fatalities in 2014, the OSHA reports.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman strongly believes in fighting for the compensation victims need and deserve. They have been representing victims of construction accidents for years and in one case, Attorney Thomas Moverman even won a victim $2.6 million for a worker who injured his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding.

“Most of these actions help to make our environment and the workplace safer so that others will not have to endure these painful losses,” said Moverman of the firm’s work.

The firm has successfully obtained millions in settlements for those victims and Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident. Certain individuals may be entitled to financial compensation.
