Victim Suffers Severe Burns In E-Cig Explosion, As Possible E-Cigarette Explosion Lawsuit Cases Increase
July 19, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on the number of e-cigarette explosions that have been reported to date. As per a very detailed timeline established by TheProductLawyers.com, there have been 199 reported e-cigarette explosions. Of these instances, 77 of them have occurred in 2016 already. When examining the numbers from 2014 and 2015, 38 and 47 respectively, the number recorded in 2016 exceeds the total number of these past two years combined together.
A portion of the total number of recorded e-cig explosions has occurred in the state of Missouri. Since 2009 there have been 5 explosions, most notably an April 30th explosion where the victim was at work at the time his e-cig exploded in his pocket. The man suffered severe burns to his inner thigh and groin area, as reported by NewsPressNow.com. 20-30 of his co-workers witnessed the man’s horrifying experience firsthand. By the victim’s own account he stated that he felt a very hot feeling in his pocket followed by a hissing noise. Smoke then began to billow from his pocket as well as flames.
Attorney Marc Freund of LipsigLawyers.com recently commented on the Missouri incident where the e-cig caught fire in the man’s pocket. He has extended best wishes to the victim and is hopeful he can fully recover from the injuries sustained during the explosion. Freund also stated that as e-cigarettes continue to become more popular it is expected that the number of explosions will most likely increase as well.
