California Teen Seriously Injured In E-Cig Explosion, As Potential E-Cigarette Explosion Lawsuit Cases Increase

TheProductLawyers.com has provided a detailed timeline of the explosions happening during this period of time. In 2016 the rate of such incidents has increased dramatically. There have been 162 e-cig explosions since 2014, with 85 happening in 2014 and 2015 and 77 reported cases already in 2016. Since 2009, California leads the nation in explosions with 19, representing almost 15 percent of all the reported explosions in the United States up to the current time.

One such incident as reported by PasoRoblesDailyNews.com involved a teenager from California who was with friends in his car when his e-cig exploded in his face. The explosion occurred while the device was in use on the 1900 block of Cottonwood Road. It was reported that the explosion cracked one of the windows in the teen’s car, knocked out some of his teeth, and punctured a hole in his tongue. Emergency crews were called to the scene and the teen was transported to Twin Cities Community Hospital where he was then airlifted to Fresno Regional Medical Center to be further treated in the medical center’s burn unit.
