California Experiences Another E-Cig Explosion, As Potential E-Cigarette Lawsuit Cases Grow
July 25, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Attorney Marc Freund commented on an e-cigarette explosion that happened on April 15th in Orange County, California. An e-cig user lost his left eye after his e-cig exploded in his face, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. Attorney Freund wished the man a speedy recovery from his injuries and stated there needs to be an increase in public awareness regarding the potential dangers of using e-cigarettes.
It should also be noted that in addition to losing his left eye, the victim also suffered broken sinus and orbital bones. The victim has stated that he is hopeful that his horrific experience can serve as an example to other e-cig users, as well as for the general public, of the potential dangers and risks associated with using e-cigs and the dire consequences that could possibly result.
It was not long after the Orange County e-cig explosion that Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill to raise the smoking age in the state from 18 to 21. Such a move will prohibit the sale of tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21 for the purposes of smoking, chewing, or vaping. Many hope that this bill will be able to assist in lowering the number of e-cig-related explosions in the state which have increased dramatically in recent years.
As per a timeline compiled by TheProductLawyers.com denoting e-cig explosions in California, the Orange County incident is 1 of 19 reported explosions since 2009. This number represents almost 10 percent of all of the explosions reported up to the present time.
