Idaho Falls Man Severely Wounded By Exploding E-Cigarette, As E-Cig Lawsuit Case Filing Number Grows

July 26, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on the discrepancy in data related to the number of e-cigarette explosions that have occurred since 2009 to 2014 between the figures released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and those compiled by TheProductLawyers.com in its detailed timeline of explosions. FEMA has released information showing that there have been 25 explosions. However, TheProductLawyers.com states that the number is more realistically at 199 incidents.

Furthermore, TheProductLawyers.com indicates that California and Arizona have seen at least 10 explosions since 2009. The rate at which they are occurring on a yearly basis has also hastened with 28, 38, and 47 explosions being reported in 2013, 2014 and 2015, respectively. There have been 77 explosions documented in 2016 already.

According to a report from ABC affiliate, Local News 8, an e-cigarette explosion has occurred for the first time in the state of Idaho involving an Idaho Falls man. The victim suffered 3rd-degree burns when his e-cig exploded while in his pocket and proceeded to emit white flames. The victim reportedly had smoked regular tobacco cigarettes for 12 years and switched over to e-cigs because he was under the impression that they were safer than regular cigarettes.

Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman wished the victim a fast recovery and hopes that the skin graft surgery that was required after the explosion does not present any complications. Attorney Freund is a firm believer that as the popularity of e-cigarette use increases, the frequency of e-cig explosions will increase as well.

Marc Freund Esq. is currently offering all victims the opportunity to explore their complete legal rights and potential course of action, through a complimentary legal consultation. Freund notes that some victims will be entitled to legal action and financial compensation.
