Italian Restaurant Team Wins Sussex Corporate Volleyball Tournament
August 31, 2016 – –
Alfresco, an Italian Restaurant in Brighton, United Kingdom, is proud to announce that they have won the August 17th Sussex corporate volleyball tournament. The team captain was Alex Lewis, Alfresco’s Event Manager. In total, 12 companies were represented and the tournament itself was incredibly exciting.
Alex Lewis herself says: “”Brighton is a major destination for international tourists and Brits alike seeking a getaway that is close to London and offers a huge variety of culture and food. In fact is is one of the major entertainment hubs of the UK. With its beach, wonderful promenade, and famous pier, it is also very much a true beach city. One of the things we love about Brighton is its community involvement, and we were all too happy to take part in the Active Sussex beach volleyball tournament, together with another 11 local businesses. We never expected to win it, but we’re so happy that we did.”
Active Sussex has made the 2016 summer all about volleyball. They have been encouraging local businesses to register for their activities, which all took place at the Yellowave on Brighton seafront. The Workplace Challenge Beach Volleyball tournaments took place across June, July, and August and were very well attended.
Any local business was able to register for the tournament, whether they were seasoned pros or completely novices. The community itself was also encouraged to attend the events to show their support, and local visitors also came and took part. As such, the events became not just an opportunity for team building and networking, but also for promoting businesses and getting to know the community as a whole. All teams were mixed and had a maximum of 10 players, with between three and six players on court at one given time.
Alfresco, meanwhile, is a very popular and iconic restaurant in Brighton, famous for its fantastic food and beautiful views over the sea. They have won numerous excellence awards for their fantastic menus and other activities. In fact, it is a popular spot for weddings as well. Those who have been to the restaurant have loved their experience, as can be seen from the numerous testimonials on the website. Being an iconic part of Brighton, the fact that the restaurant’s team took part in the contest only further enhanced their reputation.
