‘Why Should I Date You?’ a Film that is Inspired by Real Online Dating Stories, is Launched

The Film Follows a Young Woman who is on a Quest to Find the Perfect Boyfriend

The movie will use the real experiences of online dating to weave a story about the sometimes hilarious and real ordeals women go through when trying to meet others through this modern means.

As a spokesperson noted, the film follows Taylor Rebels, who is on a quest to find her perfect boyfriend, as well as the comedic chaos that ensues.

The story is inspired by real online dating experiences and how one woman navigates through the variety of characters that one meets through these dating websites.

“No matter who you are, most women at some point in their life have dealt with harassment,” the spokesperson for the film noted.

“Whether through a social network site or a real life setting, Why Should I Date You? explores these situations through lighthearted comedy in an attempt to bring awareness. The goal is to empower and unite women through this mutual social epidemic”

Jacoby is no stranger to the film scene. The New York based actress has worked on a number of projects on both the big and small screen; these include Tomato Soup, Oxygen’s My Crazy Love and Character Study.

In order to help pay for the production costs associated with filming Why Should I Date You? Jacoby recently launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo. She hopes to raise $6,500 through crowdfunding to cover the costs of equipment, travel, editing and post production and other expenses related to making the film.

“This is a chance for you not only to support an independent film but a female written, directed, and produced film with a predominantly female cast and crew,” the spokesperson said.

“You will also be helping us spread the message of respect and equality between the genders. Help us empower women everywhere.”
