Spark: A technology not only for major brands but also for the masses

For example, Boost Mobile adds over 20,000 new customers each month thanks to RewardStream’s technology. Over the last 2 years, the company’s “Refer-A-Friend” website plug-in, called Spark™, has produced more than $300 million in new business for its customers. With Spark™, online shoppers can refer a friend during the order process (and get rewarded in case this friend actually becomes a new client).
Yesterday, RewardStream announced the launch of its “Refer a Friend” technology for WooCommerce, the most popular eCommerce platform on the web currently powering over 37% of all online stores around the world, totaling more than 1.5 million businesses. Website operators with online stores utilizing the plug-in WooCommerce for their shopping cart can now install Spark™ within minutes and embed referral marketing capabilities across their store. The plug-in instantly creates connections into the WooCommerce engine to seamlessly process referral messages and rewards, and automatically prompts shoppers to refer their friends to the store during the shopping experience.
In August, RewardStream announced the availability of Spark™ to about 230,000 existing Magento customers (i.e. internet retailers). Magento is another popular eCommerce platform, similar to WooCommerce. In total, RewardStream’s downloadable plug-in is now available to more than 1.73 million potential new customers (i.e. online stores willing to implement a referral marketing strategy in order to generate new customers).
If only 10,000 online stores will install the Spark™ plug-in over the next months and pay on average an estimated $100/month (e.g. $49 monthly fee plus 5% success fees), RewardStream would bank $1 million in monthly revenues. In case every 17th store from WooCommerce or Magento installs Spark™, revenues would reach $120 million annual. Although it’s impossible to foresee if or when RewardStream could reach such large numbers, the internet is full of examples showing that efficient and easy to handle internet innovations can experience exponential growth in a relatively short time.
