Image Management Application Photo Gallery Sort Filter In FileMaker Pro Launched

Richard Carlton Consulting has just released its new application FM Gallery and FM Camera, photo management and image collection tools that provide users the ability to manipulate and manage their photos from a thumbnail view.

A new photo manipulation and management application called FM Gallery along with an image collection tool FM Camera has been launched by Richard Carlton Consulting, Inc. The application combines the power of a photo management application with FileMaker Pro without plug-ins, Javascript or an internet connection.

More than 1 trillion pictures were taken globally in the year 2015 according to the Pew Research Center, thanks mostly to mobile phone proliferation. It is projected that by 2017 that number could be as high as 14 trillion photos taken annually.

The total number of photos stored is expected to grow from 3.2 trillion in 2015 to 4.7 trillion in 2017 as reported by InfoTrends Worldwide Consumer Photos Captured and Stored. If all of the photos taken in 2017 were printed as 4×6” prints and lined up end to end, they would make a trail long enough to travel 2.5 roundtrips from the Earth to the Sun.

Richard Carlton Consulting has developed a FileMaker product, image management application and an image collection tool, to help people manage their digital pictures called FM Gallery and FM Camera. FM Gallery allows users to manipulate and manage thousands of photos like in Apple iPhotoTM, and FM Camera is the iPhone and iPad image collection tool.

FM Gallery brings thumbnail image management otherwise not available in the FileMaker Pro platform. It is not a photo editor. It provides a user-friendly way to interact with and manage images and combines the thumbnails view with a revolutionary multi-selection of records technique.

The application enables users to print, save, delete, open or make changes to a selection in a click. The thumbnails view can be sorted, filtered and searched without cumbersome finds and basic list views that don’t allow a whole “picture” of all photos.

FM Camera works offline to collect photos. With the press of a button it can sync photos up to FM Gallery, which can run on FileMaker Server. FM Gallery and FM Camera are built completely in FileMaker, and once purchased, are unlocked, so users can customize them or connect them to their existing FileMaker solution.
