A Win for Women’s Hormonal Health

Genneve takes top honors at the Women Founders Network Fast Pitch competition.

Seattle, United States – October 27, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —

Female-led start-up genneve, a leader in women’s hormonal health, was awarded the first-place finish at the Women’s Founders Network 2016 Annual Fast Pitch competition held in Los Angeles on Oct 20th.

“A first-place finish is validation of our mission for an open and positive dialogue about women’s hormonal health, which has been a taboo topic for so long. Women just suffer in silence, not knowing there are solutions. It’s exciting to see women’s health concerns becoming part of the larger conversation.”

Genneve wants to be the premier brand for women’s hormonal health and for bold discussion around health issues women face. With an initial focus on feminine health, the company sells lubricants and moisturizers and provides an online platform, gennevecommunity.com, for information and open dialogue.

“A staggering one in three women around the globe will experience painful sex due to intimate dryness and irritation, yet it’s still one of those topics that just doesn’t get discussed publicly,” said Jill Angelo, CEO. “We’re changing that.”

The Women’s Founders Network (WFN) Annual Fast Pitch competition is judged by executives from venture capital and private equity firms. To be considered, a company must be majority owned by women, or have a woman co-founder, CEO, or president. Competitors must either generate revenue already or demonstrate proof of concept.

“The field was amazing,” says Angelo. “All of the companies pitching at WFN demonstrated great leadership, innovative ideas, and very real opportunities for success. It was truly an honor to be selected from among such a competitive cohort.”

As winner of the 2016 competition, genneve receives a prize package of cash and professional services. As taboos fade, investors aren’t shying away any more from companies like genneve. “Every woman goes through a hormonal journey throughout her life, from her first period, through pregnancy, child-birth and breastfeeding, if she goes that route, to menopause and beyond,” says Angelo. “As her body changes, she may have different needs and challenges we can help with. That represents an enormous opportunity which savvy investors are starting to understand. And that benefits everyone.”
