Americanrehabs.com Introduces Special Section for LGBT Members Fighting Drug Addiction Problems

October 28, 2016 – – Americanrehabs.com, a drug rehabilitation directory, has become the latest to open its door to members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community by including special support to them. This follows a study that showed about 33% of the LGBT population struggle with drug and alcohol abuse, stress management and depression issues but fail to get adequate help for fear of stigmatization or rejection.

Founder Mr. Robert Miner said, “The idea of fellow citizens living with addiction problems and depression issues and having nowhere to turn to made me feel depressed as well; and I made a decision of including specific support and assurance to the LGBT community members who have any type of addiction. I found it depressing and regrettably unfortunate that there are members of the LGBT population who have been suffering with drug abuse and alcohol addiction problems but still fear to open up about their fears and addictions for the lack of adequate support. This directory will serve them the purpose to find required support.”

“We are living at a special time where the society is learning to accept all members irrespective of their sexuality or race, and we therefore have the obligation to treat these members with the respect they deserve. We also have the obligation to offer them as much help and assistance as much as possible, especially where the members are facing deep emotional or addiction problems,” he added.

Members of the LGBT population have often felt different and isolated by the members who are supposed to offer them support, but this is about to change thanks to the inclusion of an LGBT drug rehab and therapy program at American Rehabs. This special feature will also help members with the same sexual orientations receive rehabilitation assistance from staff who understand them better, and experts who are trained to care for their problems.

The company’s spokesperson, Ms. Valerie Carter, further noted that they focus to list rehabilitation centers who give special emphasis on training and recruiting of their staff members to ensure that members of the LGBT community who need drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation are welcomed and treated with the care and assistance they need.

“We are looking forward to giving more training to our staff members so that they can equitably understand the issues that face the LGBT community and especially be trained on how to deal with those of them with drug addiction issues,” a spokesperson for one of the listed companies said.

“Making it public that americanrehabs.com has the will and resources to assist the LGBT community deal with their drug addiction and alcohol abuse issues does not only aim at encouraging addicted members of this community to look for assistance, but it also shows the need for the society in general to recognize and accept the fact that the LGBT society needs their support, and more specifically, emotional support,” Ms. Carter added.

This move has also had a lot of success, noting that Americanrehabs.com is an already trusted and respected drug rehabilitation directory that has a reputation of prioritizing customers.
