As Talcum Powder Lawsuit Filings Grow, Sources Say Woman May Have Died From Talc Exposure

The article states that the woman had suffered from health problems from a work accident in 1993 but had died because of foreign materials in her lungs. Her cause of death had been determined after a pathologist noticed needle-shaped silicate deposits in the woman’s spleen, liver, and lungs. The foreign deposits caused hypertension and the formation of fibroids, ultimately causing the woman’s death, the source stated.

The powder was later discovered to cause problems, leading to the first case claiming the product causes ovarian cancer in 2009.
