It’s Showtime! Hits Long Beach, CA With ‘The Funk Show’ November 19th

Today, It’s Showtime! announces two Southern California dates for its new concert production series ‘The Funk Show’. Headlined by Cameo, and packed with an all-star lineup that also includes The SOS Band, The Dazz Band, and Con Funk Shun, ‘The Funk Show’ will play Long Beach Arena, Saturday, November 19th in Long Beach, CA and Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA, Friday, December 9th in Ontario, CA.

Old School R&B/Funk music fans are in for a treat anytime they can see two or three of these legendary acts on the same bill; however, they are really in for a special treat when they get seven on the same bill, bringing the funk like only they can. Not only because of the richness and depth of their music, but also for the memories their presence in person kindles for fans dating as far back as Cameo’s emergence onto the music scene in the mid-1970’s through the mid-1980’s when every act on the bill enjoyed its greatest success and the R&B/Funk scene thrived at every level. Today, each of the acts on ‘The Funk Show’s bill are recognized as ‘legends’ primarily because their music endures the test of time when competition for spots on radio and the stage was fierce, yet, not only standing above many that aspired to the throne, but also standing among their (now legendary) counterparts they will share the stage with on November 19th and December 9th.

Without question, some will ask, “Why so many acts on one bill?”, but It’s Showtime! executive producer Byron Allen believes that his patrons win when they get tremendous value for their discretionary spending dollars. He also believes that having several acts on one bill saves his patrons time getting their ‘Fill of the Funk’ — and yet, with all that said, the underlying genius of ‘The Funk Show’ is that it pits masters of stage and show in friendly, yet very real ‘competitive’ settings to deliver the best show…where once again, patrons of his shows win!
