Calgary, Canada – November 10, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —
Gav Harrison – a professional web developer and health activist – is set to speak at a local internet marketers conference in Calgary Alberta later this month about the importance of keeping healthy when working office jobs. Harrison agreed to speak not just on the importance of keeping healthy, but also how one goes about doing so.
When asked what exactly he would talk about, Gav said “my message will be about the importance of not only keeping fit and strong, but also about keeping the body healthy. I have dozens of friends and acquaintances that work office jobs and most of them are either overweight or have some other preventable health issue. My job and mission is to address and hopefully change that.”
Gav went on to say that one of his greatest motivators was a close friend of his – a geologist working an office job at a huge oil company in Calgary. “He’s a great friend, and it troubles me to see him struggle with severe back problems on a regular basis.”
“I discovered that he eats super healthy in general and the lunches he takes to work are usually raw vegetables, an apple, sometimes even a couple coconut flour pancakes he didn’t finish at breakfast, and that is about it. He is in good shape and certainly isn’t overweight, and yet he has been having these severe back pains for as long as I’ve known him.”
Gav says when his friend originally confided this in him, he realized there was more to staying healthy than just a healthy diet. “It hit me like a ton of bricks” says Gav. “I all of a sudden realized exercise is just as important as a healthy diet.”
“Years ago our parents would tell us to get office jobs because they would be easier on the body, and they were right. After a while though – those that weren’t very active outside of work – started suffering from all kinds of health issues. I quickly realized it wasn’t because of a poor diet for most of them, but much more because they failed to partake in physical activities like running, going for walks, or other sweat-breaking activities.”
Gav insists it is important to get the heart-rate up from physical activities at least a few times a week, and says it will be his main argument for his speech at the conference later this month.
