The Simplified VISUAL Law Lexicon Project will effectively help viewers gain more insight into what these legal terms mean in a helpful and easy way. Using this tool, anyone can approach their legal troubles with a greater sense of understanding and confidence.

The videos will come complete with animations, helpful graphics and sound effects to illustrate points and increase the likelihood that the viewer will retain information. These helpful videos will allow the public to understand legal basics from criminal law, immigration law, family law, and much more. This dictionary will be put together with the help of compassionate, savvy law professionals who want to make legal concerns less intimidating to the public.

Barati-Darmian, founder of Chosen Lawyers, explains his motivation in creating this tool: “I decided to help educate the people about our convoluted legal terms, by simplifying them and then describe each term visually, so everyone can understand and remember them. That is because if knowledge is power; knowing the real meaning of the Law is the most powerful glue that bonds humanities social, economical and political discourse, together.”

Completing the project will be no easy feat, however—4,000 videos must be written and produced and 3,200 remaining legal terms must be fleshed out in a way that is easy to understand, with one or two examples to define each term. The terms must be sorted based on area of law, and the videos must be recorded in English and Spanish, as well as professionally edited. That is why Barati-Darmian has created a Kickstarter campaign to accomplish this undertaking. It is his hope that the public will fund this very necessary tool that they will soon be benefiting from.
