Register My Devices Announces New Bicycle Registration Project

November 17, 2016 – – Glenwood Springs, Colorado based company, Register My Devices, Inc., has announced a new campaign using Kickstarter currently in the works and will allow bicycle registration among others. The company has developed this new campaign in their ongoing effort to create a national database for free registration of consumer property.

Register My Devices was founded by two police officers who realized that no single national database existed that would allow consumers to register free property such as bicycles, cameras, and cell phones so that the database could be accessible to law enforcement to aid in identifying, recovering, and returning lost or stolen property.

Levi Blount, co-founder of the organization says, “We want to make it easier for law enforcement as well as consumers when it comes to recovering property.”

Blount says that the new upcoming Kickstarter Campaign will help in this effort. Kickstarter allows projects to be registered, and these projects include art, dance, film, journalism, and many others. Projects are created and shared with others, around a global community. Rules for creating and sharing projects are simple. They must be honest and clearly presented, and they cannot be created for financial gain or involve items that are otherwise prohibited.

“It’s a great platform to reach a global audience,” Blount says. “The Kickstarter program is built on honesty and trust. Projects must be clearly presented and not misleading.”

Blount says that Register My Devices is built on the same principles, and that registering with the organization is easy. Consumers simply sign up for free, add the items that they wish to have registered and added to the database, and then a record of ownership is created. If and when any piece of property is stolen or lost, consumers can log into their accounts and tag the item. If that item is located by a partnering agency, it will be able to return the property to its owner.

Blount says that while there are databases for larger items such as vehicles, there is no one database that works on this scale and that can assist this many consumers.
