Holiday Pet Adoptions at Galleria Dallas:

During Operation Kindness Holiday Adoption Days at Galleria Dallas, which begin Black Friday, Nov. 25, and run through Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, shoppers can interact with adoptable dogs and cats, learn about volunteer opportunities and adopt a furry friend. Mrs. Texas U.S. Universal 2017 will kick-off the holiday adoption event with an appearance on Friday, November 25. Adoption hours are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sundays, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., and will take place at the south end of the mall near Banana Republic. Dogs will be available for adoption for $185 and cats for $135.

Pet Photos with Santa:

On Saturday, Dec. 3, Sunday, Dec. 4, Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., pet parents are invited to the Kindness Klubhouse located at 13394 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75240 for holiday photos with Santa. Dogs, cats and the whole family are invited to sit on Santa’s lap to pose. A helper will snap 10-15 photos per session. Pet parents can choose to have their favorite photo framed in a 4”x6” format for $15, or receive a 4”x6” framed photo and a thumb drive with all of the photos for $25. These photos make great holiday cards, and all proceeds benefit Operation Kindness.

Wrapping for Kindness:

Esther Mooring and a team of volunteers are requesting small donations in exchange for wrapping gifts to benefit Operation Kindness. Gift wrapping will be available at Barnes & Noble – Park and Preston from Nov. 25 through Dec. 24, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. every day. Gifts do not need to be purchased from Barnes & Noble to be wrapped – guests are encouraged to bring gifts from other places to be wrapped. Last year, Esther and her team of volunteer gift wrappers raised more than $12,000 for the no-kill shelter. This year she is hoping to raise even more funds with the goal of reaching $13,000.

About Operation Kindness

Founded in 1976, Operation Kindness is the original and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas. Its mission is to care for homeless cats and dogs in a no-kill environment until each is adopted into responsible homes and to advocate humane values and behavior. In 2016, Operation Kindness is celebrating their 40th anniversary and their achievement of saving more than 85,000 animals since their inception. Annually the shelter assists more than 5,000 dogs and cats, caring for an average of 300 animals daily with another 100-150 animals in foster homes.
