It follows the story of Mia, an actress from Italy suffering from conflicting emotions after receiving a lead role in a play.

In the movie, Mia frets that she is not good enough for the part or possibly not prepared enough to take on the role. After rumination, the lines between her dreams and reality become blurred. Twenty minutes before stepping on stage, she experiences harrowing visions, including being chased by a threatening Venetian clown, hanging as a marionette, and trying to speak while chewing a mouthful of glass.

The movie intends to explore the unconscious and its nuances. Despite Mia’s nightmarish visions, Beulah carries a hopeful message about the realization of one’s greatest dreams. This film explores unprecedented issues and seeks to provide a breath of fresh air to the movie industry.

Denise Alessandra Ambroggio wrote Beulah and is also set to direct and play lead role in the film. She feels as if her “interest lies primarily in the character’s psychology, in what is left unsaid, to convey what is truly being said between the lines intertwining dream world and our reality.”

Her professional resume is impressive, including a Bachelor of Arts in Media Design and Multimedia Arts at Italy’s esteemed college Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. After earning a scholarship to Santa Fe University of Art and Design, she received an MA in Film and Media Production. She has worked on a host of films in a number of roles, such as first assistant director, production designer, digital imaging technician and assistant camera.
