MassRoots to Acquire Whaxy in Stock and Cash Deal

Whaxy’s Online Platform for Cannabis Businesses Has Processed over $5 Million in Volume

Continuing to expand its unique cannabis online networking platform, MassRoots, one of the leading technology platforms for the cannabis industry, recently announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire DDDigtal Inc. d.b.a. “Whaxy” & Cannabuild.

Whaxy’s menu management and online ordering platform for licensed cannabis businesses has processed over $5 million in volume across 40,000 unique transactions since launching in May, 2016. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions.

The exciting announcement comes at the end of a very successful 2016 for MassRoots. Over the last 12 months the Company has executed on its growth strategy hitting major milestones. Last October the Company announced its first international partnership in an agreement with Aphria Inc. (TSX-V: APH) one of the leading Canadian licensed producers of medical cannabis. Other milestones include the addition of 100 cannabis dispensary locations to the Company’s unique, user-friendly dispensary finder on its industry leading technology platform.

The platform, which is often called the “Yelp for weed” has seen a significant increase in traffic over the last six months, and is now more than ever the “go to” place for an increasing number of cannabis consumers, growers, and dispensaries looking to connect. This year the Company also completed its backend migration to Amazon Web Services, and has introduced several new features which have opened new growth channels and potential revenue streams. Also, MassRoots has also added key members to its experienced Board of Directors and its Management Team, including the addition of Lance Galey as CTO and Anthony Nystrom to the Board. Nystrom serves as Mashable’s Principal for Artificial Intelligence.

Regarding its most recent milestone, the definitive agreement to acquire Whaxy, Isaac Dietrich, MassRoots CEO, commented in a recent press release:
