A new online pest control directory was launched today by Web Directories USA.

The directory features only one exterminator per city. It turned out that not all pest control businesses provide bed bug extermination services. Of these who does offer them only a handful could pass the rigorous vetting process.

“As with many other industries the pest control industry has its share of bait and switch merchants. They would provide a low-ball estimate over the phone to get their foot in the door and then would give you the actual price”, said a past customer of a pest control company that was interviewed.

To determine which companies would make the cut employees of Web Directories USA sifted through all pest control companies that served a particular region in the first round. In the second one the top three bed bud exterminators in every city were called. Some of them were polite and helpful, others not so much and there were quite a few that neither picked up the phone or returned calls even though all calls were made during business hours. In the end only one business per city was chosen to be included in the bed bug exterminators directory.
