Tuscaloosa Attorney Apsilah O. Millsaps (Appie) will be honored at a black tie event for service to the legal profession & community by the Fellows of the Alabama Law Foundation. Only 1% of bar membership has been elected to Fellows of the Alabama Law Foundation.

Ms. Apsilah O. Millsaps (Appie), of the Tuscaloosa law firm Owens & Millsaps. LLP, will be recognized by the Alabama Law Foundation, Inc on Saturday, January 28th, 2017. Her Election to the Fellows is in recognition of accomplishments and outstanding dedication to the legal profession and community. Only 1% of bar membership ever receive election to the Fellows of the Alabama Law Foundation, Inc. The black tie award dinner will be held in Montgomery Alabama at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa.
Fellow’s contributions are devoted to the foundation’s mission of providing access to justice. $18 million dollars in grants have been awarded by the Fellows since the Alabama Law Foundation, Inc was established in 1987. The Fellows program was established in 1993
Appie Millsaps graduated from Dartmouth College in 1988 and the University of Alabama School of Law in 1992. She received numerous honors as a law student including being selected as a Hugo L. Black Scholar, being elected an Editor of the Alabama Law Review, receiving the Editor in Chief’s Award, receiving multiple best paper awards, and being named as a member of the Bench & Bar Honor Society. She has continued to receive accolades as an attorney — serving as President of the Women’s Section of the State of Alabama Bar Association, and serving on the Young Lawyer’s Executive Committee. Appie has been rated as an AV Preeminent® attorney by Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review process, its highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability.
Mrs. Millsaps is an active member of the Tuscaloosa community. She has served many local organizations including the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club, Zonta Club of Tuscaloosa, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board of Directors, the Boy Scouts of America, and the First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa. Appie is currently the Advisor for Delta Gamma at the University of Alabama.
