Asher College was named a 2017 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM, and Military Spouse.

Each year, the list of Military Friendly® Schools is provided to service members and their families, helping them select the best college, university, or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career. Asher College has been honored with this distinction since 2012.

“Asher College is thankful to the military and veteran students for the service and sacrifices and pleased to have been included in this prestigious list,” stated Josh Paulsen, Dallas Campus Director.  “It is an honor to work with veteran students on a daily basis to help them ease their transition to the civilian workplace. They have served the country dutifully, with great sacrifice and Asher College is committed to helping them in any way possible.”

United States Army Veteran Bel Small was an Asher student before she joined the Asher College staff in 2016. She is currently the Asher College Dallas Campus Veteran’s Advocate.

“Asher College staff was always helpful to secure student programs in a timely manner,” said Small. “Staff is there to answer questions and help veteran students through this important time in their lives.”

Potential Military Friendly® School designees are determined using public data sources, input from student veterans and responses to a proprietary, data-driven survey. Methodology, criteria and weightings are determined by Victory Media and an advisory council of educators and employers. Final ratings also include an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates.

According to Daniel Nichols, Chief Product Officer at Victory Media, “The ability to apply a clear, consistent standard to the majority of colleges gives veterans a comprehensive view of which schools are striving to provide the best opportunities and conditions for the nation’s student veterans. Military Friendly® helps military families make the best use of the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other federal benefits.”

Asher College is accredited and specializes in Information Technology, Health Services and Business with an emphasis in soft skills and career service assistance.  Asher College has been eligible for veteran training benefits since 2002 and has campuses in Addison, Texas, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Sacramento, California. The college will be showcased along with other 2017 Military Friendly® Schools in the annual Guide to Military Friendly® Schools, special education issues of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse Magazine, and on militaryfriendly.com.  For more information visit the Asher College website or the Military Friendly website.
