Denver Personal Trainer Says Gym Not Required For A Great Workout
Denver personal trainer says residents have a great workout at home, or outside with the variety of outdoor activities available in Colorado.
Lakewood, United States – March 10, 2017 /PressCable/ —
The owner of an in-home personal training company serving customers in the Denver, Lakewood, Arvada, and Golden areas says when people think of exercise, the usual place that comes to mind is a gym. What Denver residents often don’t realize is the number of physical activities available outside the gym.
Denver is consistently rated as one of the fittest cities in the United States, and for good reason. Residents have a variety of activities available, including hiking, biking, and rock climbing.
Arnas Butkus, certified personal trainer at One Goal Denver, says “Going to the gym can get boring, but we’re fortunate to live in a beautiful state with plenty of outdoor activities. And you don’t even have to drive up into the mountains. As the days get longer, you can head to a local park after work, and throw some exercises together like squats, lunges, pushups, and crunches for a full-body workout in the sun. Bring resistance bands or a kettlebell, and you may decide to never search for parking at a gym during peak hours again. Whether your goal is weight loss, muscle toning, or endurance training, you can achieve it at home, or outside, without ever having to step foot in a big box gym.”
Butkus says: “The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week for overall cardiovascular health. Including strength-training exercises in your routine helps to maintain bone mass and lean muscle tissues.”
Aerobic activities are those which raise the heart rate. Aerobic activities can include a brisk walk around the neighborhood, salsa dancing, vacuuming, pushing a lawn mower, or playing doubles tennis. The CDC notes that a good indicator of whether or not an activity is of “moderate intensity” is being able to carry a conversation, but not being able to sing.
