Bellevue, United States – March 20, 2017 /PressCable/ —
American Academies of Martial Arts (AAMA) located in Bellevue announced today they would donate $10 in honor of National Reading Month to Avery Elementary school library for each family that tried a martial arts, karate, MMA, or self defense class at their training center for the first time in the month of March.
According to the National Education Association, having kids read a lot is one of the crucial components of becoming a good reader. Or as Dr. Seuss once wrote, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” And while many students are encouraged to read while in school, there’s room for improvement as kids get older. A HuffPost/YouGov Poll of 1,000 U.S. adults found that 28 percent hadn’t read a book at all in the past year.
American Academies of Martial Arts (AAMA) owner Mark Goblowsky wants to help because he believes readers are leaders. He encourages his martial arts students to be readers and to develop the life-long love of reading. Mr. Goblowsky says he is honored to support the work Avery Elementary does in helping students succeed and foster the love of reading. Literacy and empowering the love of reading is something he’s proud to support during National Reading Month. He said he and his staff are thrilled to be able to give to an organization that has given so much and done so much good over the years.
He said any martial arts beginner who tries Martial Arts training at his Bellevue martial arts training center will not only get fit while having fun, learning important self defense skills, and strengthening their character, they’ll also be helping the students of Avery Elementary fund their library.
Mr. Goblowsky is also offering a hand picked reading list which he believes develops the character traits he finds most valuable in what he calls, “scholar warriors”. Scholar warriors display confidence, discipline, focus, control, respect, and improved behavior. Mr. Goblowsky’s reading list features books that help students learn the value of these important traits in a fun, productive manner. The reading list is available by calling the Mr. Goblowsky’s training center and requesting a copy. Those wishing to try a class at American Academies of Martial Arts during March are encouraged to make reservation to try a class for the first time by calling 402-731-5425 or visiting their website at: www.MartialArtsInBellevue.com
