Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center and Camp Kulaqua Celebrates over 60 years

High Springs, United States – April 21, 2017 /PressCable/

Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center is celebrating over 60 years of blessed years in ministry. This is a huge milestone for the High Springs, Florida based Christian retreat and conference center, which has grown to be one of the largest Seventh-day Adventist Retreat and Conference Centers and Camps in the world, and one of the favorite destinations for Seventh-day Adventist Florida Conference churches and events, as well as for many other Christian groups of different denominations, colleges and universities, technical schools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and many other not-for-profit organizations for field trips, events, conferences and retreats, community programs, and more since 1953.

Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center was founded over 60 years ago when a small group of Seventh-day Adventist Christian men and women knelt on the banks of Hornsby Spring in High Springs, Florida, (near Gainesville) and prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom in their decision as to purchase the land where the Christian Retreat and Conference Center and Christian Camp is now located. In this age of technology, they believed that disconnected and distracted people are longing for a place and an opportunity to develop a deeper ability to commune with God and with each other. Kulaqua’s biggest desire is to provide that place where people can come together, enjoy the great outdoors and connect with God and each other as they enjoy His creation in a much deeper and more personal way.

One of the earliest challenges Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center faced was helping others catch the vision of the importance of spending time in nature, to reflect on the important things of life, away from the press of the world’s stress and pressure so they can reflect on what is really important in light of eternity and God’s sacrifice.

Now over 60 year’s later, Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center has been privileged to minister to hundreds of thousands of people from all around the world at their unique and well appointed Christian Retreat and Conference Center and Camp located in North Central Florida in High Springs, near Gainesville, Florida. Over their 60 years of ministry, God’s blessings have been evident all around.

Sunny Kulaqua, Retreat Specialist at Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center said, “Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center, and Camp Kulaqua’s ministry has grown into a beautiful property of over 600 beautiful acres with amenities to accommodate a variety of ministry and educational retreats, events and conferences for adults, youth, children and families. We can host a variety of types of Christian retreats, events and conferences with our accommodations that range from rustic campsites, RV sites, and cabins, to fully self contained cottages with all the modern comforts of home and modern hotel style lodges. And we have all the fun and activities any event planner could want – including our own private zoo and water park, our own fresh water spring and river, horseback riding, go cart race track, mini-golf, zip line, climbing wall, team building low elements course, Frisbee golf, archery, – and much more. If you haven’t been out to our beautiful Christian Retreat and Conference Center, give us a call or book a tour. We’d be happy to show you around and talk with you about ways to make your event memorable, enjoyable and most of all, effective.”

Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center’s Sunny Kulaqua also said, “We’re delighted to be celebrating our over 60 years Year Anniversary. I believe the secret to getting this far that at Kulaqua, we’ve learned a valuable lesson over the years. When you strip away the distractions and create an environment that allows people to focus—as individuals as well as groups—on a common goal or purpose in an environment that helps them see the glory, majesty and love of God, a place where they can hear the Holy Spirit’s voice and feel His presence, good things are bound to happen.”

Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center currently consists of over 50 employees and has big plans for the upcoming years. Kulaqua’s declared mission is “to serve the constituents of the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists with a friendly and quality retreat and camping facility that sets an atmosphere allowing for the Holy Spirit to touch as many lives as possible. Secondarily, to use Kulaqua’s beautiful amenities as an outreach to non-members who can abide by the policies of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the principles of Christianity. May all be to the honor and glory of God.”

Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center is thankful for the last 60 years and looks forward to many more.
