Greg Cowart with American Pacific Mortgage is celebrating his 3rd Anniversary with the organization. This is a huge milestone for the Roseville, CA – based mortgage consultant.

Cowart got his start in the mortgage industry 21 years ago as a clerical temp. He would go on to learn the mortgage business from the ground up and is one of a select few loan officers that has worked in all aspects of the loan origination process from processing to closing.

One of the earliest challenges Cowart faced was when he first started as a loan officer he had no idea how to acquire business. He interviewed with numerous mortgage brokers that all told him how easy it was going to be and rolled out the red carpet to hire him, even though he had never originated before.

While every mortgage consultant faces challenges, some, like Greg Cowart are fortunate enough to enjoy real successes, wins and victories too. One such victory came when he recently helped a family complete a year’s long home buying/building process for their dream home.

Cowart was also quoted when discussing another big win. “One of my high points so far was when I helped a first time home buyer look for a property with very specific needs. When they finally found the property and their Realtor got their offer accepted, even though we had a full loan approval from underwriting before even making an offer, new property-related issues kept popping up day after day. Termites, additions without permits, undisclosed additional structures on the property (5 acres), and more… As each issue popped up both my clients and the sellers would become very agitated and the deal was almost called off many times. However I knew they wanted this house, their very first home, and needed this home specifically because of their unique situation. My team and I kept the sellers from cancelling the transaction, got my clients numerous extensions, ensured they didn’t have to pay for any rate lock extensions, and ultimately got them the house for less than originally agreed.”

Cowart credits his success to surrounding himself with great people, both personally and professionally. He has made sure to work and spend his time with an amazing team that shares the same passion for helping people navigate the largest financial decision most home buyers make in their lives.
