Toolerant Launches Campaign to Bring Attention to Fair Pay & Safe Workplace Act

Grand Rapids, MI – June 5, 2017 /MarketersMedia/

With the 21st century in full swing, many things have changed and evolved. However, one factor that is still shockingly low in the United States regards the number of female construction workers. In the 1980s the number of female construction workers hovered around three percent and it hasn’t surpassed this number, even today.

It is believed by many that President Donald needs to take action regarding this issue and enact the 2014 Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces law, to work toward a lower amount of gender discrimination in the workplace.

“Toolerant is working to bring attention to this serious issue,” stated magazine creator Ryan Wilford. “My goal is to inspire people to take action on this serious issue and bring it to the forefront of everyone’s mind. It is a serious issue and one that has been ignored for far too long.”

Compared to the rest of the world, the number of construction workers in the United States is shockingly low. For example, the country of Cambodia is currently experiencing a huge construction boom. With the future of the agricultural trade in this country failing, more women are working in the construction field. Today, 33 percent of all construction workers in the country are women. However, there is still a significant wage gap and sexist attitude in the workplace.

“It is necessary for the policymakers in the US to take action,” continued Wilford. “It is crucial that women are not left out of the high-wage job opportunities available that can contribute to their overall well-being and economic security. There are quite a few federal agencies that can adequately address and help with the challenges that female construction workers are facing.”

President Trump oversees each of the federal agencies that need to take action. Working to reduce discrimination against women is a fight that has been fought for many decades. There are many who now believe it is time for action.
