Summer Art Camp Brings New Art Techniques to Children in Chattanooga This Summer
New art techniques are taught in a creative and fun atmosphere at Children’s Art Place summer art camps. This year a brand new method is introduced where glass and found objects are assembled in a collage, then sealed in a clear glass-like epoxy coating!
Chattanooga, United States – June 8, 2017 /PressCable/ —
Children’s Art Place Summer Art Camps is introducing a new and exciting collage technique to young artists this summer. Using tempered glass chips along with other broken pieces of glass and china, the collage is carefully laid out and assembled on stretched canvas or planks of wood in a sea scape or animal configuration. (Don’t worry Moms and Dads – Gloves are worn and there is close supervision for this portion.) Next, little bubbles, beads, sea shells and other cool found objects are added for extra interest! After the children leave, the counselors will pour an epoxy that secures all the treasures in place and leaves it looking like they are suspended in a glass (or water-like) substance. This seals off the sharp edges and finishes the art pieces beautifully. It is always exciting to see what young artists create each summer!
This is just one of the many fun and exciting projects the campers will create in the “Under the Sea” Art Camp this summer! Each summer Children’s Art Place offers many fun art learning experiences and this summer is no exception. They will also offer “Painting & Mixed Media Masterpieces” where several different techniques are used and layered into each unique piece of art. This camp is full of new and exciting combinations that will lead to amazing masterpieces! There is also an art camp themed around favorite games & characters like Pokemon, Animal Jam, Minecraft & Superheroes. It was a hit last summer and is back for an encore with all new projects. “Mom Would NEVER Let Me Do This at Home!” is back for a fourth summer! This is always the most popular camp filled with cool, messy abstract art and methods, such as paint filled water balloons, marbleizing, pendulum painting and more.
Camps are available for two weeks in June only this summer. For more information go to ChildrensArtPlace.com. It is always a treat to see what amazing art young people can create and without visual art in many schools, Summer Art Camp is a fabulous way to help children express themselves! Don’t be afraid to make art at any age. Go out and help children make some cool treasures this summer! The experience of creating art is as valuable as the finished product!
