Greeley, CO Church Kinship Service Religious Activity Announced – Greeley, Colorado, United States — June 9, 2017 Crossroads Church of Greeley, a Greeley Evangelical church announced a Kinship Connection pilot program. This religious activity is organized to serve the Kinship families of Weld County Colorado. More information is available at http://www.crossroadsgreeley.com. Weld County Colorado currently has over 300 family members receiving services through a Kinship home—meaning that a family member is caring for a child who is not their biological child.
When asked about the reasons behind creating this event, Laura Killen-Wing, Children’s Program Director stressed the significance of the Kinship Connection Program. “The Summer program will provide a meal and fun, family-focused activities for up to 50 people who have been identified in Weld County as Kinship families. Our activities will include game days, field trips, art experiences, and more. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for these families to build a support system with each other. Our goal is to provide a way for families to not only connect while at the Kinship program, but to connect with the community as well. When a family of two becomes a family of six overnight, they are no longer able to afford dining out, movies, and other paid community activities.”
