Corpus Christi, TX – June 10, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Texas continues to crack down on distracted drivers, as Arklatexhomepage.com reports 455 individuals have been killed this year, with more than 3,000 seriously injured, due to Distracted Driving. In fact, Texas just passed a law which goes into effect on September 1, 2017 that bans texting while driving. Individuals caught texting behind the wheel will be fined for each offense, and the hope is that this will cut down on accidents. Texting is only one form of distracted driving, however, thus individuals need to be fully aware whenever they are behind the wheel of a car.
“San Antonio already has laws in place to prevent texting and driving, yet people rarely confine themselves to their immediate geographical area. Individuals should be safe regardless of where they choose to drive in the state, and this law will help to ensure they are. When a person is injured as the result of a distracted driver, they deserve fair compensation, and our firm works to see that they get it, ” Alex R. Hernandez Jr. (www.alexhernandeztriallaw.com) states.
The current law in San Antonio will be rolled back as a result of this new legislation. Governor Abbot has put this into place to make certain there is no confusion regarding the texting and driving law. The current law, however, remains in effect until September 1, 2017.
“Every person needs to understand the power they have in their hands when they are operating a motor vehicle. Even at slow speeds, a person can be injured in an accident. For this reason, every person should put their phone down and concentrate on the road at all times. When they fail to do so, the state will step in to protect its citizens,” Hernandez continues.
Distracted driving isn’t the only issue, however. Drunk Driving remain a concern whenever an individual is on the road. In 2015, DistractedDriverAccidents.com reported more people die as a result of drunk driving accidents, but more individuals are injured as a result of distracted driving incidents. Regardless of why an individual is injured in a vehicle accident, nevertheless, they should seek legal guidance for assistance in paying their medical bills and other expenses related to the incident.
