Latest Challanges With NBN Ready Phone Systems In Brisbane & SE Queensland

“Phones Now” guarantee their clients will suffer zero downtime when they swap to the nbn and install one of our nbn compatible phone systems.

Brisbane, Australia – June 16, 2017 /PressCable/

Greg Eicke is one of the leading providers of nbn solutions, including nbn compatible phones, to Australian small business. He owns and runs “Phones Now” – where excellence comes standard.

When asked about the “state of play” with the nbn and what he is seeing and hearing from small business owners in the field, Greg said “There is a lot of confusion. Unfortunately, this is fuelled by bad information. Business owners are often being told the wrong thing by Telco’s and nbn providers, particularly when it comes to nbn ready phone systems.”

Greg explained that there are a couple of ‘furfies’ that keep coming up. The first one is, “One must change now or risk losing their number!” This isn’t true. The fact is that there is plenty of time for business owners to make an informed decision.

The second incorrect piece of advice is, “your current phone system isn’t nbn ready”. This is also false. Any phone system can be updated to be an nbn compatible phone system, explained Greg. Mr Eicke suggested that business owners should be doing a cost benefit analysis of updating their old system versus upgrading to one of the new nbn phone systems.

“We were also called in to help a business who had been cut off the old copper lines. This business was told that it would be 6 weeks before they could be connected to the nbn. We stepped in and had them connected to the nbn in 48 hours! This is another example of bad or inexperienced advice cause unnecessary headaches for hard working Australian Business Owners”, Greg explained.

When asked about the key challenges that businesses face in changing to the nbn and nbn ready phone systems, Greg gave this advice, “Apart from the liars and sales tactics used by the big Telcos, the biggest challenge, as we see it, is acceptance of change along with willingness to change. The crucial setback was business owners clearly did not understand what the nbn™ delivered nor did they completely grasp the ramifications of the transformation. We’ve been exposed to propaganda from politicians and the frenzied news-driven media endorsing the nbn™ as a fix-all solution. The facts are, they’ve both glossed over the process and genuine impacts on small business.”

However, it is far from all bad, says Greg, “What the nbn brings excited me tremendously. Never before have we witnessed such a diverse and comprehensive arsenal of business building tools all in one neat package. We believe the true advantages of Unified Communications have barely been realised, its adopters have incredibly powerful tools on hand to propel their business to the dizzy heights of success. nbn ready phones are just the tip of the iceberg. Almost every telco supplier is merely presenting a fancy phone system with all the new buzz words and acronyms to make them appear knowledgeable? Most phone system vendors stretch the truth when it comes to Unified Communications and nbn compatible phones.”

Greg advises that it is best for a business owner to firstly think about where they want to take their business in the future. The future vision of the business will determine what communications, internet, data and phone capabilities that business needs to prepare for now.

When asked if it was possible to avoid the nbn altogether, Greg gave this advice, “There are some services immune to nbn changeover for now anyway. Business grade data connections will not be affected by the nbn. This usually is applicable to 20 users and above. ISDN services are immune to disconnection, however this is for a short period only until nbn sort out an alternative delivery mechanism. Speak with our crew as ISDN services are quite heavy on line rental charges where nbn lines are not.”

Greg has this final piece of advice to help businesses owners to not fall victim to bad advice and shonky tactics. “Providers today are only interested in the connection, not what hangs off it. This is where things go pear shaped. The nbn is one thing, however the devices and systems connected to it are another thing. This is where the rubber meets the road and almost every provider falls by the wayside.

It’s not the nbn that’s the challenge, it’s the nbn compatible phone systems that connect to it that count. A supplier that can make all of this work harmoniously is needed, Greg said this is where they come into the picture. This is what they do and what they love to do.
