Breast Cancer Charity Drive Pulls on Heart Strings

Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother in need of a charitable donation for breast cancer medical bills.

Cancer of any kind is devastating to the patient, family as well as friends. Watching the health deterioration of the patient is difficult on both the mind and spirit for everyone involved. Watching the patient go through the battery of cancer procedures and treatment for a second time is almost unbearable.

According to Cancer.org’s Cancer Treatment & Survivorship Facts & Figures (2016-2017), here are many of the side effects one must endure: anemia, bleeding or clotting, bone density loss, bowel dysfunction, distress, fatigue, hair changes and hair loss, heart damage, immune suppression, memory and other mental deficits, nausea, weight changes, dietary issues, pain, sexual dysfunction, skin changes, urinary, bladder and kidney problems. These are only the majors side effects. Many other side effects are described on a case-by-case basis. Just imagine having to go through this agony two times.

Linda Mikulenka is one of the unfortunate women to have now contracted breast cancer for a second time. Battling this disease again has been brutal on her body and her mind. Linda is a survivor of Triple Negative Stage IV Breast Cancer. In regards to her original Stage IV diagnosis, Ms. Mikulenka was given less than 5% chance at surviving.
