Taking great pride in caring for veterans and their families, the funeral directors of Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care, Inc. are able to complete the applications for all veterans’ benefits such as Military Honors, a Presidential Memorial Certificate and government issued veterans headstones or markers. The honor guard detail for the interment of an eligible veteran will contain at least two members of the Armed Forces, one being from the branch that the veteran served in. The United States flag will be folded and presented to the next of kin, and Taps will be played. A Presidential Memorial Certificate is a gold-embossed paper having the official signature of the President that honors the memory of an eligible deceased veteran. Upon request, the Department of Veterans Affairs supplies a free headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any departed qualifying veteran in any cemetery in the world. The funeral director also liaises with national or state veterans’ cemeteries on the family’s behalf.

Their services also include removal and transfer of the departed from the site of death, the skilled work of the funeral director and supporting staff members, cremation, a funeral or memorial service, the use of their lovely facilities for the gathering, specialized inscriptions, an emotive tribute video and an interactive online memorial.

For eligibility, the veteran must have received an honorable discharge. This can be verified through the use of DD Form 214 or with any discharge paperwork showing other than dishonorable service.
