Hooke Audio Announces “Selfie Cam” for Its 3D Audio Recording Android and iOS Smartphone Apps

By Capturing Selfie Videos in 3D Audio, Influencers, Filmmakers, Musicians, and Journalists Can Now Form an Even Closer Connection with Their Audiences

CHICAGO, IL / ACCESSWIRE / August 22, 2017 / Hooke Audio (www.hookeaudio.com), makers of the world’s first 3D Audio recording apps and wireless 3D Audio microphone Hooke Verse, have introduced “selfie cam” in their latest app updates for Android and iOS.

With Selfie Cam, Hooke Audio users can now access the front-facing camera on their smartphones, effectively reversing the perspective of the audio. On playback, the locations of sounds are true to that of the camera, not the recorder’s head.

“The front facing camera is an essential tool for musicians, journalists, influencers and every other creator whose personal perspective is at the center of the story. When it comes to audio, perspective is everything. This is a feature that our customers demanded. Before Selfie Cam, it was technically possible to do this, but it would’ve required lots of gear and cost thousands of dollars to produce. Now, with Hooke Audio, you can record 3D audio selfie videos on your smartphone at a price point that’s affordable for all creators – not just professionals. We are excited to see where Hooke Audio fans will take this feature, producing new types of 3D audio selfie videos that we can only begin to imagine. As creators, listeners or both, we are all participants in the 3D Audio revolution, which is changing the world as we hear it,” said Hooke Audio Founder, Anthony Mattana.

This latest app update comes on the heels of Hooke Audio’s successful summer launch of its first product, the Hooke VERSE. The stylish VERSE is a pair of Bluetooth headphones with incorporated binaural microphones in each earbud that capture audio identically to the way the wearer hears it – spatially, with sound coming from various directions at once. Hooke Audio’s integrated app enables users to record mobile 3D Audio, pair it to the smartphone’s video camera, and upload the result to social networks like YouTube and Twitter. Hooke Audio’s recorded 3D sound can be heard with any stereo headset or speaker configuration. Unlike Surround Sound technology, the Hooke Audio system does not require multiple speakers or special headphones. It is the first microphone of its kind.

Hooke VERSE wireless 3D audio recording headphones are available from the company’s website www.hookeaudio.com for $239. The company’s latest binaural 3D audio recordings are available on YouTube, SoundCloud, Facebook, and the Hooke 3D Audio Blog – the go-to destination for commentary on 3D audio recording audio space, virtual reality, and the technologies behind the sounds we hear.
